Finding Balance And Healing - Ayurveda Home Remedies

Ayurveda home remedies revolve around an ancient system of medicine that has its roots in India. Ayurveda has been used by millions of people for thousands of years in not only India but throughout South Asia. Ayurveda is currently being used in quite a few western countries. The word Ayurveda comes from two ancient Sanskrit words meaning ‘life’ and ‘science’. The Ayurveda system of medicine takes a holistic approach. Ayurveda’s therapies make Ayurveda home remedies very attractive options for those looking for alternative methods to treat ailments.

Ayurveda home remedies that are being used with frequency include treatments for the common cold, headaches and migraines, and even sleep disorders. There are also Ayurveda home remedies to treat indigestion, constipation, and stomachaches and pains.

Ayurveda Home Remedies For Common Cold:

-- You should keep the body well covered and warm, especially from the throat to the thighs. If there is a fireplace in your house then you should sit facing it as much as possible.

-- You should eat as much as you can but be sure to avoid sour foods as well as cold foods and liquids. Also stay away from radishes.

-- At the start of the day you should make a mixture of seven grinded black peppercorns and a teaspoon of honey. This should be stirred 108 times clockwise.

-- After drinking the pepper/honey mixture swallow half of a garlic clove without chewing. Take this like you would a pill using luke-warm water.

-- Make a tea using a tablespoon of fenugreek seeds, seven black peppercorns, and a teaspoon of minced fresh ginger. Boils this in two cups of water until it has gone down to one cup. If you wish you may add black tea and some sugar. Do this 3 or 4 (but not more than 4) times per day.

Ayurveda Home Remedies For Migraines And Headaches

The headache you have can mean there are other problems somewhere else on the body. Ayurveda looks at where the head hurts and says that there is a coinciding problem elsewhere or that the pain points to another problem. For example, if the pain is in your eyeball, you may have a pH level that is overly acidic which can cause many systems of your body to become weak. If the pain is on your lower forehead, it may point to an inflammation of the stomach and pin in the front middle of the forehead may mean that you have an ulcer.

Some of the Ayurveda home remedies for headaches or migraines are:

-- Use a small amount of oil and massage the temple, forehead, neck, and shoulders.

-- Make a paste of ground sandalwood or ground clay and apply it to the forehead. After you have let it dry rub it off using your hand and wash the area clean.

-- Drink a teaspoon of honey mixed with a glass of warm water.

-- In the early morning or just after sunrise, while on an empty stomach, do a headstand. This increases blood flow to the brain and can help stop most forms of headache.

There are many other aspects of Ayurveda that can help people take care of people suffering with different ailments. Those who want to find proven alternative ways to treat themselves and overcome physical problems they may have should try Ayurveda home remedies.
